Major delays and queueing traffic have been reported in and around Newark.

There are delays and queueing traffic on the A46 both northbound and southbound, as well as standstill traffic on the Great North Road through to the B6166 through the town.

This has had a knock-on effect on the A17 traffic coming into Newark at the Friendly Farmer roundabout.

There are reports of standstill traffic with queues of up to 19 minutes on the A1 southbound between A1 (Cromwell / Norwell Turn Off) and A46 (Newark Showground / Air Museum Turn Off), with traffic queuing up to the Cromwell exit.

The B6386 is also closed between Whinbush Lane/Flatts Lane and Ollerton Road.
