Litter left behind by Travellers on Fernwood Business Park is picked over by crows
Travellers who trespassed on business park land have left a great deal of rubbish behind that is being picked over by crows.
An extended family in four caravans camped without permission from landowners on the Fernwood Business Park over the Bank Holiday weekend.
While they caused no issues, they left behind a significant amount of litter over four areas of grassland and hedge bottoms bordering the B6326.
Some of the waste was bagged, but has been pecked apart by crows who are feasting on the food scraps they contain.
But in the main, the waste, which is in the location where the caravans were parked, was just discarded.
The litter includes food waste, toilet paper, duvet set packaging and a lot of takeaway wrappers from McDonald’s, Burger King, a pizza shop, and plastic Chinese food cartons, some still with food residue in.
There is also Sainsburys and Lidl carrier bags, some empty, some filled with waste.
There are also dozens of Pot Noodle containers, water bottles and Coca Cola and 7up fizzy drink cans.
Some of the riubbish is blowing towards businesses and The Suthers School on the wind.
Because the land is privately owned, it is unclear when, or if, it will be cleared away.
