Valdo Calocane is charged with the of murder by stabbing of University of Nottingham students Barnaby Philip John Webber and Grace Sashi O’Malley-Kumar, both aged 19, and primary school caretaker Ian Robert Coates, 65 and the attempted murder of three people including Wayne Birkett
A man accused of a triple murder and triple attmepted murder in Nottingham on Tuesday has been remanded to prison.
Valdo Calocane is charged with the of murder by stabbing of University of Nottingham students Barnaby Philip John Webber and Grace Sashi O’Malley-Kumar, both aged 19, and primary school caretaker Ian Robert Coates, 65.
Valdo Calocane, aged 31, of no fixed address, also faces charges of attempted murder relating to three members of the public allegedly struck by Mr Coates’ stolen van.
Those victims of Tuesday’s horror attack were named as Sharon Miller, Marcin Gawronski and Wayne Birkett. Mr Birkett is from Newark but lives in Nottingham.
Calocane gave his name in court as Adam Mendes, which his a name he also known by.
The case was adjourned for Calocane to appear before Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday, June 20.
