Two car collision on A46 near Newark Showground

Two people have been injured following a collision on the A46 Winthorpe roundabout near Newark Showground.

Nottinghamshire Police were called at 8.46am this morning to reports of a two-vehicle collision.

Firefighters from Newark have left the scene after rescuing one woman from her vehicle.

She has been taken to hospital in an ambulance.

One lane has been closed and there are reports of lengthy delays.

People are being urged to avoid the area if possible.
