Further fundraising for baby with rare medical condition
A yard sale will be held in North Muskham on Saturday to raise money for specialist equipment for a ten-month-old baby.
Xander Page-Massingham was born with the medical condition exomphalos, which means most of his major organs are in a membrane sack obtruding from his stomach.
The condition affects about one in 50,000 babies and was first noticed at the 12-week scan.
Xander’s mother, Deborah Page, said they were hoping to raise £10,000. They have already held a ball at Kelham and Country Park followed by a bubble dash.
The yard sale, which costs £10 per entry, will be followed the next day by a charity run, organised by neighbour and friend Mrs Sandra Neil.
Both events will take place in North Muskham.
The run has two distances — 5k and 10k — with £10 entry for those over 16 and £5 for those under 16. Entry for a family of two adults and two children is £25.
The run will start from the Muskham Ferry at 10.30am, where there will be a barbecue.
Another fundraising event, a Christmas party, has been planned for December 8.
