U3A stall

A club for retired and semi-retired older people has a stall in Newark Market Square on Wednesday to advertise its activities.

Newark and District U3A are hoping to encourage people to share their skills, knowledge, interests and experiences without the stress of qualifications and targets.

The group offer a range of activities from archaeology, languages and literature to scrabble, gardening and craft work.

They also offer social occasions such as coffee mornings, luncheons and trips to member's places of interest.

The group has an annual membership fee of £12, plus incidental running costs, and offers a two week free trial to potential new members.

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at Hawtonville Methodist Church Hall, Eton Avenue, from 2pm to 4pm.
