Newark Town Council unhappy at telecommunications impact on trees at Robin Hood Carparks Appletongate

A committee wants to see a planning application for fibre exchange telecommunications infrastructure resubmitted.

UPP Ltd (London) submitted for planning for the infrastructure to be built at Robin Hood Parking at 81 Appletongate, Newark, but the chosen location could mean an impact on existing mature trees, one of which might be worthy of a Tree Preservation Order.

Members of Newark Town Council’s planning committee want to see a proposal where the infrastructure is located in another area of the carpark where it will not impact on any trees.

The infrastructure will provide full fibre (gigabit) to the carpark.

The town council’s representations will influence the district council’s determination of the application.
