Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner calls for entries for Partnerships Award and Community Safety Award at Nottinghamshire Police Awards

Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping is appealing for nominations two awards honouring the county's unsung community heroes.

The commissioner is now accepting entries for his Partnerships Award and Community Safety Award in this year's Nottinghamshire Police Awards.

The annual ceremony takes place at the Albert Hall in Nottingham on Wednesday, November 14, and organisations have until 5pm on Friday October 26 to enter.

Launching the nomination process, Mr Tipping said: "Nottinghamshire has a wealth of passionate and dedicated people making a difference to their communities and I always look forward to hearing about their fantastic efforts.

"Strong partnership working really is the bedrock of good community policing and I'm privileged to be in a position to reward those organisations which have gone above and beyond to help vulnerable people stay safe."

The commissioner's Partnerships Award honours successful organisations or teams which have worked in partnership to deliver the goals of the Commissioner's Police and Crime Plan.

Successful nominees must show evidence of how they have protected people from harm, helped and supported victims, tackled crime and antisocial behaviour or transformed services to increase public confidence by working closely with partnership agencies.

The commissioner's Community Safety Award is open to organisations or teams which have made a positive contribution to community safety by either helping to raise public awareness of a safety issue, increasing public confidence to report crime, enabling groups of people to enjoy their communities safely or by gathering and using intelligence to disrupt crime and antisocial behaviour.
