National Holocaust Centre, Laxton, to host talk by holocaust educator and author Mike Levy
Author and holocaust educator Mike Levy is to visit the National Holocaust Centre, Laxton, to tell stories of the unsung heroes of the Kindertransport.
His book, Get The Children Out: Unsung Heroes Of The Kindertransport, explores the mass rescue of children during the second world war and the people who organised it.
The National Holocaust Centre will be hosting a meet the author event with Mike, who is involved with the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, Association for Jewish Refugees, Holocaust Education Trust and The Harwich Kindertransport Memorial and Learning Trust and has a vast knowledge of the Kindertransport.
He will be giving what is promised to be a lively and engaging talk about the story of 22 men and women who rescued as many as 10,000 children from the Nazi regime — including a Dutch aunt, a grocer, a Quaker and a Rabbi.
The event will be held on Sunday, from 1pm to 2.30pm, at the centre.
