Confirmed coronavirus cases in Newark and Sherwood reaches 2,786 (Friday, November 27) as more residents die after testing positive
Twenty nine coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Newark and Sherwood according to the latest figures released by Public Health England, taking the total to 2,786.
Ashfield 3,418 (up 39) Bassetlaw 3,489 (up 38) Broxtowe 3,236 (up 24) Gedling 3,361 (up 45) Mansfield 2,846 (up 27) Newark and Sherwood 2,786 (up 29) Rushcliffe 3,233 (up 21) Nottingham 16,608 (up 88) Nottinghamshire 22,369 (up 223).
Infection rates across the county are generally falling.
A further two people resident in Newark and Sherwood were reported to have died within 28 days of testing positive for coronavirus today, taking the total to 88.
The country is in lockdown. It was announced yesterday (Thursday) Newark and Sherwood and Nottinghamshire alike will be put into Tier 3 when lockdown ends on Wednesday, December 2.
Most areas in England have been placed into Tier 2 or 3, with only a handful in Tier 1.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced the Job Retention Scheme, or furlough, will be extended until the end of March.
According to the latest public data — 1,574,562 patients in the UK have tested positive and 57,031 people have died.
