Newark: Update on blaze at British Sugar factory on Great North Road

A blaze that broke out at Newark's British Sugar factory was dealt with quickly by firefighters.

Crews from Newark, Southwell and Collingham were called to the factory on Great North Road yesterday (Wednesday).

These crews were assisted by British Sugar's own firefighters, who together managed to extinguish the blaze within about an hour.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has said the fire was in the machinery.

No injuries have been reported.
