Confirmed coronavirus cases in Newark and Sherwood reaches 3,880 (Tuesday, December 29) with Nottinghamshire's tier status to be reviewed from tomorrow




Another 52 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Newark and Sherwood, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Ashfield 4,586 (up 67) Bassetlaw 4,755 (up 49) Broxtowe 4,016 (up 33) Gedling 4,499 (up 51) Mansfield 3,813 (up 57) Newark and Sherwood 3,880 (up 52) Rushcliffe 4,048 (up 60) Nottingham 19,457 (up 145) Nottinghamshire 29,597 (up 369).

In the last seven days there have been 292 positive cases recorded in Newark and Sherwood. This represents an increase.

A further two people in Newark and Sherwood have died within 28 days of testing positive for the virus, according to the latest data, taking the total to 118.

The district, along with the rest of Nottinghamshire, is continuing under Tier 3 restrictions until at least the next review at December 30. However, this could change.

According to the latest public data, 2,329,730 patients in the UK have tested positive and 71,109 people have died.
