The visitor centre at the new look Sconce and Devon Park, Newark, is nearing completion.

The centre will include an historical exhibition space, cafe, public toilets and office for the park ranger.

There will be panels showing the history of the park, with its nationally-protected ancient monument, the Queen's Sconce which dates back to Civil War England, and a television showing a film detailing the work that has been done.

Work began on the site in August of last year and is costing £1.5m.

The annual Sconce Fest on July 4 will be the official opening of the new look park.
