Newark and Sherwood volunteers lead successful litter picking effort
More than 25 bags of waste have been collected by volunteers in Newark and Sherwood.
The team led a successful clean-up effort around the Sherwood Heath area, joined by councillor Paul Peacock.
They collected rubbish from along the A616 between Ollerton roundabout towards Budby, and a further six bags on the A6075 towards Edwinstowe.
The team of volunteers— residents from Edwinstowe and Clipstone — meet regularly. Their work goes towards making Newark and Sherwood a Cleaner, Safer, Greener place.
Also supporting the litter pick were staff from Newark and Sherwood District Council and officers from WISE, the district council's partners in working towards preventing and prosecuting those who commit environmental crimes such as littering.
