Ollerton Town Football Club looks for volunteers to help clean up its grounds

A community football club is calling on volunteers to help them clean up their grounds.

“We are asking for any willing volunteers to lend a hand between the hours of 9 am to 1pm on Saturday, May 11,” said Ollerton Town Community Football Club’s vice chairman Lewis Brooks.

“We’re hoping to be able to paint the external fence, trim and cut the grass around the site as well as paint around other areas of the ground.

“We have been fortunate to find a sponsor for the event. Carisbrooke Clearance will be lending a hand by clearing out all the unwanted waste.

“We ask that anyone coming down to help bring a few tools with them to use from paint brushes, garden hoes or other garden tools, trimmers and lawn mowers.

“Donations of black, red and white paint also wouldn’t go a miss as we try and build the club identity as strongly as possible.”

Lewis added that cleaning up the football club would be good for the area because a lot of people in the community use and enjoy the facilities.
