Company pays tribute to man tragically killed in industrial accident
A company has paid tribute to a colleague who died yesterday in an industrial accident.
Police were called to the Barcode Warehouse, Telford Drive, Newark, at 9.40am on Tuesday.
A man, 35, who had been driving a forklift truck was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, Barcode Warehouse said: "We are deeply saddened to confirm the death of an employee at our Newark facility yesterday morning (June 4 2019).
"Our immediate thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends.
"Our main priority is to offer them — and also staff — our full support at what is an extremely distressing time.
"We are working closely with both the police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as they jointly consider the exact circumstances of the incident.
"We are therefore unable to comment any further at this time."
