The Met Office forecasts up to 2cm of snow at low levels, 2-5cm at around 200m, and 10-20cm at 400m.

The post has already prompted warnings from other organisations, including National Highways East Midlands, who have called on motorists to be prepared.

They advise motorists to plan journeys in advance, pack winter kits, and follow driving guidelines during severe weather.

They emphasise the importance of maintaining a safe distance, adapting to driving in challenging conditions, and cooperating with gritters on the road.

The organisation's guidance aims to ensure smooth and secure travel, with additional support provided by traffic officers and control room teams throughout the year.
