The St George's Day parade marches into Newark Market Place and into formation.

An estimated 700 children and young people from scouting groups across the district, including Farndon, Balderton, Normanton and the Trent Villages group, who were parading for the first time, and their families and locals lined the streets to watch the parade.

The procession began at Mount C of E Primary School and made its way through the town along Kings Road and Kirk Gate before marching into the market place and arriving at the parish church for a service.

After the service, the scouts then marched around the market square, where a classic car show was also being held, and processed into formation in front of the town hall steps. in front of the visiting dignitaries, including Scouts assistant county representatives Stuart and Rosie Smith, Keith Walker, the chairman of Newark and Sherwood District Council and chairman's lady Joan Whicher, Mayor Tony Roberts MBE, the Reverend Chris Lee and Mick Gill, district president of Newark Scouting Association.
