Newark baby loss charity founder and former mental health nurse launch well-being podcast Notts Care to Share
The founder of a Newark baby loss charity and a former mental health nurse have joined forces to launch a well-being podcast.
Help Us Grieve (HUG) creator Amy Everatt and her friend Juliette Quincey — a former mental health nurse and now a clinical hypnotherapist — have teamed up to launch Notts Care to Share.
Each episode will be centred around mental health and the struggles people have faced throughout the pandemic, and will highlight services and support networks available.
HUG was established in 2017 by Amy after she lost two babies in a 12-month period. She found it difficult to talk about her loss after discovering little emotional support was available.
Since 2017, Amy and her husband, Oliver, have focused on creating a strong support network that offers relatable experience and advice to those who are navigating their way through the grief of losing a baby.
Now a mother to two healthy girls, Amy said: “It is vital, especially since the pandemic hit, that people are aware of support networks that are available.
“We will be sharing lots of useful information on our podcast and our Notts Care To Share Facebook page and are encouraging people to get in touch with any questions or stories they’d like to share with us.”
Episode one has gone live and discusses the life of a single mum and NHS worker on the front line.
Juliette said: “Amy and I decided to start this podcast to give people a platform to share their stories safely and without any judgment.
“We want the Notts Care To Share podcast to be a platform where open and honest discussions around positive mental health and well-being can take place.”
Several guests will join the pair over the coming weeks to cover different topical issues and offer their expert help and advice.
Future episodes are set to cover topics such as the struggles of dating in a lockdown, our relationship with food with TV chef Kwoklyn Wan, pressures felt by teachers during the pandemic, and how coronavirus has affected the everyday life of a single dad and son with autism.
