Following yesterday's announcement of Liz Truss becoming the country's next Prime Minister, the Advertiser asked residents for their views.
The former Foreign Secretary took 57% of the votes in the Conservative Party leadership contest against former Chancellor Rishi Sunak.
She formally replaced Boris Johnson as Prime Minister in a meeting with the Queen today.
We went out to the community to hear people's thoughts on the new Prime Minister and what her top priorities should be.
Many refused to comment, either because they said they didn't know enough about her, or they were afraid of the language they would use.
Many described her as a female Boris Johnson, which seemed good news for some, less so for others.
