Advertiser readers recommended the Lord Ted as the best place for a Christmas meal in Newark




In its weekly voxpop, the Advertiser found out where to go for the best Christmas dinner in Newark and surrounding areas.

As the weather gets colder and Christmas is just around the corner, we heard about people’s recommendations of places to eat a delicious good value-for-money meal.

While most people we spoke to kept to Newark, some mentioned different dishes to the traditional English Christmas dinner, Christmas is all about enjoying good food with loved ones.

Maxine Parker said: “The Prince Rupert and the Riverside at Farndon that is very nice and so is the Ram.”

Neil Chetwood said: “There is a nice place next to the river, the Farndon Ferry.”

Carol Welleoer said:: “I like that one near the river, Lord Ted, great carvery, it is good value for money and you can get all your family in a table.”

Graham and Heather Parker said: “We usually tend to eat out in Grantham, we love Tinel.”

Lou McDonald: “I like Tambo Lounge, it’s in the town centre so it is nice and easy.”

Ruth Claridge said: “We like the Indian restaurant in North Muskham, it is not very Christmassy but it is very very good, very very nice.”

Ann Smith said: “We always eat our Christmas dinner at home but on a Sunday we like to go to Lord Ted so I’d say that one.”

Roy Bowers and Linda Warriner said: “I can’t find anywhere to go out for a Christmas meal in Newark.

“But if I had to pick I’d say the Lord Ted.”

Abi Kelway said: “I tend to go to Oscar’s and other than that I don’t really know.”

Michael Bass said: “I quite like the Lord Ted on Farndon Road, can never go wrong with it.”
