A stained glass window depicting the Bramley apple was installed at Southwell Minster yesterday.

The Bishop of Southwell, the Right Rev, George Cassidy, will bless the window at a service on Saturday.

The window on the west wall of the minster’s north transcept commemorates the 200th anniversary of the apple.

It measures 1.2m by 2.5m and depicts a tall thin tree with apples growing on it. It was designed by Helen Whittaker of Barley Studios, York.
