Newark and Sherwood District Council launches witness appeal following reports of vandalism at Sherwood Avenue Play Park, Newark




An appeal for witnesses has been launched following reports of vandalism at a popular park over the weekend.

Newark and Sherwood District Council are calling for witnesses to come forward after responding to reports of vandalism at Sherwood Avenue Play Park, Newark.

There was graffiti in the multi-use games area and some of the fitness equipment had been vandalised.

A district council spokesperson said: “We are absolutely appalled that this has happened.

“Our team is checking the CCTV cameras installed at the park and working with Police colleagues to find the perpetrators.

“We will not tolerate this sort of behaviour in our parks.”

People with information are asked to report to Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or at the Crime Stoppers UK website.
