Woman killed in car crash

A woman has died following a collision in Collingham.

Police were called to the scene at Potter Hill Road, where it meets the A46, on the Lincoln-bound carriageway, at 12.40pm today. (Tuesday)

Two cars were involved. Despite the efforts of emergency service workers the driver of one vehicle died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle was not thought to be seriously injured but was taken to Lincoln County Hospital as a precaution.

The road remains closed while police carry out an investigation.

Nottinghamshire Police is appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles driving prior to the crash to contact them on 101.
