Collingham woman set to complete skydive for Newark's Children's Bereavement Centre

A woman from Collingham is facing her fear of heights to raise money for the Children's Bereavement Centre.

Tamzin Aldridge, 20, of Collingham, will be completing a tandem skydive at Langar Skydive on Sunday, September 4, in the hopes of raising £500 for the centre.

Over Christmas Tamzin lost two very important people in her life, and will also be completing the skydive in their memory.

Tamzin said: "I have decided to do the skydive as over Christmas I lost my Uncle on Boxing day and my Great Grandma the next day, and then I saw this advertised and having just gone through bereavement I thought it was a worthy cause.

"I have never taken part in anything like this before, however me and my Uncle had wanted to day one together.

"I'm excited and nervous for this, as I have always wanted to do a skydive but I have a big fear of heights."

So far Tamzin has already raised close to £100 of her goal, which will go towards helping the centre offer free support to children to help them with the loss of someone close.

If you wish to donate, Tamzin's JustGiving page can be found here.

Tamzin added: "I chose to raise money for this charity as I myself used a bereavement service when I was younger and because of my lose at Christmas, I can understand why children would need extra help."
