The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain (all day)

Another yellow weather warning for rain has been issued today.

The Met Office predicts it will rain all day and into the night, with the warning lasting until midnight (Sunday, July 28).

The warning covers most of the Midlands and the northwest, with the rain set to avoid the southeast of England, which was part of yesterday's (Saturday, July 27) warning.

Be careful when travelling as the heavy rainfall may lead to flooding and disruption.

What to expect:

  • Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.
  • Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
  • There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.
  • There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing dangerous conditions.
