Notts Young Farmers Clubs’ Santa Tractor Run, which ran a 36-mile route through Southwell, raises more than £7,000
Young Farmers have said they are “thrilled” to have raised thousands of pounds in their annual festive fundraiser, which has been hailed a resounding success.
Notts Young Farmers Clubs’ Santa Tractor Run was held on December 7, with a procession of 82 tractors decorated with sparkling lights and Christmas ornaments traveling a 36-mile route through Southwell and the surrounding villages.
Despite the initial wild weather, the skies calmed not far into the route, and the procession brought plenty of festive cheer to the communities it passed through.
Stanley Cobb took home the title of Best Decorated Tractor, and to TAG Farming were awarded Best Fleet.
The Notts Young Farmers Clubs have extended their thanks to the villages, pubs, and businesses along the route for their support.
Special thanks have also been given to Collins Earthworks for supplying high viz clothing, hosts J Hammond and Co, Fairview Farm Machinery for donating the buggies for the donation vehicles, Through the Glass Photography, Newark Community First Aid, A1 Mobile, Thoresby Farming for the loan of Santa’s chariot, and BofsHogs for providing a hog roast.
“The Notts Young Farmers Clubs would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our generous sponsors and supporters who made the Santa Tractor Run possible,” a spokesman said.
“We are truly grateful for your support in spreading Christmas cheer.
“A special thank you goes out to everyone who made a donation.”
The final fundraising total for the tractor run currently stands at £7,350, which will go towards supporting young farmers over the next year, providing positive activities and opportunities to young people in rural areas of the county.
Next year's Santa Tractor Run has been scheduled for Saturday, December 6.
