- Another young boxer, Charlie Lee, won his debut bout against Brooke Lucas in Boston by a unanimous decision.
The 14-year-old, of Newark, was fighting on his opponent’s home turf but that did not faze him as he took the victory.
Lee, a pupil at Magnus Church of England Academy, trains at the Newark Boxing Academy, based at the Carl Greaves Boxing Academy and Fitness Centre.
His coach, Gary Springett, said: “He did really well.
“I was really proud, especially with it being his first time out.
“I have got high hopes for him because he has made a good start.
“Sometimes when it’s their first time in the ring they freeze and it doesn’t come together for them but Charlie did really well.
“He does work hard in the gym.”
Lee has been training at the Newark Boxing Academy for a year-and-a-half.
