It was not an easy proposition for West Bridgford who first needed to get past the formidable duo of Liz Foster and Louise Price.

The pair remained calm and kept working the ball skilfully and creatively out of the defensive area.

Captain Eleanor Wallace assisted as sweeper while stand-in Keeper Freya Beaumont proved herself to be a dependable last line of defence.

Wallace was especially effective as she thrawted the opposition and frustrated their efforts.

Stand-in at centre midfield for the match was Sophie Atkinson.

Down the other end of the field, she caused all sorts of problems for the

With clever positioning and a good ability to read the game, Atkinson was able to control the midfield for a lot of the game.

However, it would be the opposition who would score first.

West Bridgford opened the scoring with a great goal before South Nottingham fired back to tie it up.

Atkinson capitalised on a good opportunity as the ball popped out from the West Bridgford defence to give her a small opening.

She sliced it flawlessly into the goal to rattle the backboard and draw the game 1-1 at the break.

In the second half, it was all to play for as West Bridgford scored again by slotting a superb breakaway goal.

Renewed determination from South Nottingham and a brilliant pass from Gemma Robinson led to Ruby Ryan rocketing down the wing.

A fast cross saw. Evie Bates pick up the ball on the run to blaze it silkily past the West Bridgford keeper to put the score at the final result, 2-2.
