Angling Lines: A birthday bash with a difference
Members of Newark Working Men’s Club fished at Westwood Lakes, Boston, on their annual bus trip.
It was the 60th birthday of club chairman Alan Ball which made the day even more special.
A total of 28 fished the Skylark lake and the winner, Mark Neal, was on peg 19. He won with a catch of 130lb 07oz.
Second was Mike Cliff with 106-12 followed by Darren Neal with 102-13 and Alan Atkinson with 85-01.

Southwell Angling Club fished at Springvale on Dukes Lake, a new fishery at Bevercotes.
Winner was Liam Cooper with 49-5, who fished castor on the deck and on the pole.
He was followed by Harry Ford, who fished the same method but with maggot for 28-15, and Mark Davis was third with 28-4.
Joint fourth were Geoffrey Thornton and Roy Gregory, who netted 20-2. Ron Martin and Fred Cooper were fifth and sixth with 19-12 and 19-2 respectively.

Only 11 anglers fished for Grove Angling Club at Balderton Lake.
Most chose to fish on the feeder and this proved its worth with all catching.
Dom Roche was first on peg 13 with 25-09 using corn on the method feeder.
Second was Andy Dobbie on peg 23, switching between corn worm and maggot, for 20-13 and third was Andy Hall on peg 26 with 13-10 using maggot and worm.
