Jan Bailey from Newark helps Mansfield Harriers retain Midland Road Replays masters title after running fastest V45 time

Newark-based athlete Jan Bailey enjoyed a golden day in the Midland Road Relays which were held at Sutton Park last month.

Representing Mansfield Harriers, Bailey was racing for the masters team and ran the fourth fastest lap in the race and the fastest V45 time.

Bailey's performance, along with a complete team effort which included Southwell-based Dan Wheat, resulted in the team winning gold and retaining the masters title they won for the first time last year.

They also finished 12th overall in the senior race. Mansfield Harriers has now cemented itself as one of the top masters’ teams in the UK, with their masters 45 team winning gold in the National Road Relays earlier this year.
