Collingham Cricket Club beat Balderton in the Nottinghamshire Premier League

Collingham claimed a comfortable derby day victory as Balderton's miserable campaign continued in the Nottinghamshire Premier League on Saturday.

The Division Two leaders were 10-wicket winners in the top against bottom of the table clash at Balderton.

The hosts had no answer to a rampant Collingham bowling attack as they were dismissed for 67 despite the best efforts of opener Shalith Fernando who carried his bat for an unbeaten 38 while the rest of the wickets tumbled around him.

Balderton had elected to bat first after winning the toss but got off to the worst possible start when Liam Tew bowled Seth Roberts with the first ball of the match.

Tew struck again three balls later to remove home skipper Ryan Charlesworth and leave beleaguered Balderton on 0-2.

Chale Neshaharan did manage to last 12 balls while accumulating six runs before he became Tew's third victim to leave Balderton on 15-3.

John Miller then got in on the wicket-taking act as he bowled Jamie Gilbertson before having Aaron Charlesworth caught first ball by Jack Copley.

Miller then claimed his third wicket in rapid succession when trapping Alan Jackson leg before as Balderton slumped to 26-6.

Tew then took over again as he bowled both Alex Dickinson and Sam Clipsham to return 5-24 from his seven-over spell.

It was then left to Adam Mendham to take the final two Balderton wickets to fall as he caught and bowled Dave Colcomb before Ben Hall hit a delivery into the safe hands of Umer Waheed.

The league leaders wasted little time in chasing down the target as they had wrapped up the win inside 14 overs.

Chris Morris made an unbeaten 33 while Joe Saxelby scored 24 not out as Collingham opened up a 14-point lead at the top of the table with seven matches of the season remaining.

They host fifth-placed Mansfield Hosiery Mills on Saturday while Balderton travel to mid-table Anston looking for their first win since the opening day of the campaign.

Collingham 2nds produced a superb all-round performance to record a convincing 136-run win over Division C leaders Hoveringham in their South Nottinghamshire League clash.

David Pipes top-scored with 74 while Alex Scott struck 38 as Collingham made 221-8 from their 45 overs.

They then dismissed the table-toppers for 85 in reply with a superb display from the bowling attack.

Lee Fazackerley finished his seven-over spell with 4-16 which also featured four maidens while Max Shenton, Wilf Wright and Will Hillman all collected two wickets apiece to move Collingham up into third place in the table.

Balderton 2nds match at Keyworth 2nds in Division F was reduced to 30 overs and they were restricted to 110-6 after electing to bat.

Sam Ross top-scored with 36 while Tom Anderson was 23 not out at the close of the Balderton innings.

Anderson then took 3-29 from his seven overs in the Keyworth reply but the hosts triumphed with more than seven overs to spare.

Collingham's third team lost out by five wickets in their Division L Match at Lowdham 2nds.

They were bowled out for 107 after batting first with opener Tony Williams top-scoring with 18 for Collingham.

Andrew Shaw and Freddie Weeks both claimed a couple of wickets in the Lowdham reply but the hosts recovered from 6-3 to secure the win with Steven Freestone (42) and Stephen Jackson (36) leading their charge.
