Bingham Town bounce back as players recover in the Nottinghamshire Senior League
In the Nottinghamshire Senior League, Bingtown Town bounced back with a 5-3 win against Bestwood after their 2-1 defeat against Kirton Brickworks last week.
Bingham Town manager Mark Boyes said he was happy with the performance off the back of an injury-plagued season for the side.
"It's been tough for the lads," said Boyes.
"We've had lots of injuries this season and not been able to field the same starting 11 for a while now.
"But some of our injuries are coming back which is bolstering the squad and making us able to compete.
"Last season we had 17 clean sheets and went on a 15-game unbeaten run fielding almost the same 11 every week.
"This season we have had to get some of the development lads to sub up for us or even start after playing 90 mins in the morning.
"Saturday was a much-improved performance from the lads, with Jake Boyes starting to get back to his best after damaging his ACL at the start of the season and scoring a hat trick.
"Tom Sowebry alongside Matt Spencer put in a good shift, along with the skipper Scott Buckerry and goal scorer Matt Snelgrove."
Kirton Brickworks travelled to Kimberley Miners Welfare where they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat.
They will take on East Leake at home today, (Saturday, kick-off 3pm).
In their latest match, league contenders Southwell City Reserves who are currently second in the table defeated Bilborough Town 3-0 thanks to goals from David Schlitt-Farley, Thomas Robinson, and Rory Brown.
