Chase Marcham has stepped down from his role as Southwell City manager.

He said there were a number of personal reasons for his decision, and wished the club the best for the future.

Marcham took over from previous manager Dave Scott in December on an interim basis.

He will be replaced by Richie Pindor, who will take over first team duties until at least the end of the season.

"To be honest there are a lot of different reasons that I'm stepping down that I don't really want to go into," Marcham said.

"Richie is a brilliant guy to step into the role, he looks to have settled into it quite nicely."

Pindor presided over their 3-1 home victory on Wednesday evening against Hucknall Rolls Leisure, with two goals from Jonathan Nussey and a strike from Marlon Waites in the first half.

Their opponents pulled a goal back before half-time, but Southwell comfortably won their fourth Central Midlands League South match of the season.
