Claypole first XI cricket team achieve promotion from Division L to Division K in the South Nottinghamshire Cricket League.
A great cricketing season for Claypole was completed as they achieved promotion from Division L in the South Nottinghamshire Cricket League.
“We’ve only lost two games all year and we had to achieve equal or greater than six points on Saturday to win the league,” said first XI captain, Joe Attewell.
The Claypole side managed to do just that when they defeated Basford Mill by 15 runs to secure their promotion to Division K next season.
The captain posted 147, leading by example in a season where he hit over 700 runs in total.
Kristian Lennon took the best bowling figures of the season for Claypole with six wickets for 16 runs.
Matthew Revill got the most wickets for the team this season with 25 across the competition, including three wickets for one run against Thrumpton.
Notable victories included a 181-run win over second-placed Sohani, defeating Collingham by eight wickets, and a 188-run landslide over Thrumpton.
Attewell said that the team was looking forward to competing in Division K next season.
