Clinical Patrick Bamford continues excellent scoring form for Middlesbrough
A fifth goal in six games for Patrick Bamford helped Middlesbrough move up to second place in the Championship as they defeated league leaders Derby County.
The 21-year-old, from Norwell, scored against the club with which he was on loan last season in the sixth minute with a clipped shot as he evaded his markers in the area.
He was heavily involved in their second goal as he was fouled in the area, winning his side a penalty which was converted by Grant Leadbitter.
Bamford was influential throughout the game, and would have scored again but for a number of fine saves from Derby goalkeeper Lee Grant.
The forward has indicated that he would like to extend his loan spell at the club, which is due to end in January.
