Club gains gold at gala
Members of Newark Swimming Club achieved an excellent 16 first places and 12 personal bests to win the Spring Gala in Bingham.
Ruth Money gave excellent performances to clinch wins and personal bests in her age group for the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.
There were also two wins for Will Ballard in his age group for the 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly.
These results helped Newark Swimming Club to secure first place in the gala with 231 points, 18 points ahead of Retford with 213.
There were also some top performances from Newark members in the second round of the Minor Gala League in Bramcote.
The swimmers achieved seven firsts and ten personal best times. The club finished in fourth overall with 134 points.
