Derby day: Collingham hope to upset Newark Town's title charge on Non-League Day
Nathan Arnold has told his Newark Town players that every game between now and the end of the season will be seen as a cup final ahead of the title run-in.
And next up for the Blues is local rivals Collingham on Saturday, who are eager for revenge following a narrow 1-0 defeat at Station Road earlier in the season.
Collingham manager Gary Clark said: “There isn’t a team in this league that we look at and say we can’t compete with.
“Our local rivals are no different.
“Nathan has put a fantastic team together who have worked hard to be where they are.
“It is our job to make life as difficult as possible for them whether it is our place, their place or a neutral ground.
“Nathan said in his post-match interview that the pitch favoured us a little last time, so we are looking forward to playing on their pitch.
“It is going to be great on Non-League Day and hopefully that brings a few more down because it is a big occasion.”
Arnold — who scored the winner in the reverse fixture but has since reduced his playing time — said: “It is all about who turns up on the day.
“Every team will see us as a cup final, including Collingham on Saturday, because they will want to spoil the party.
“We have got to be at our very best to win.”
Saturday’s fixture is set for a 3pm kick-off at the YMCA Activity Village.
