A crash at the fourth Scheldeprijs Elite Women`s Race in Belgium sees Darvill unable to reach potential in the placings
Several events in the sport of cycling were cancelled over the weekend due to poor weather.
Isabel Darvill of the UCI Continental Team, Doltcini-O`Shea competed last Wednesday in the fourth Scheldeprijs Elite Women`s Race in Belgium.
She was well placed in the main Pelton for most of the 130km race but was again involved in a large crash 4km from the finish line.
Darvill managed to regain her composure and chased the Leaders to finish in 77th place, only 32 seconds behind the winner, world tour rider, Lorena Weibers of the powerful Team SD Works-Protime.
Before the crash the possibility of a top 20 placing was a realistic one for the Newark rider.
Her next race is the Omloop Van Borsele 1.1 Elite Women`s Race in Belgium on April 20.
She currently sits second in the Elite Women`s National Rankings but the points for her win at Fakenham last week are still to be added.
