Runners will be able to register on the day, the fee is £30 and will need to be paid in cash.

There will be a fun run on the day and entries to that are free. A donation to charity can be made.

The first runners are expected to be back after around one hour to one hour and 20 minutes.

The race starts on Hawton Road and finishes in Sconce and Devon Park.

The route is on to Hawton and across towards Farndon, passing Hardy’s Farm Shop, left on to the old Fosse Road towards Eden Hall, through Elston and Thorpe and back towards Hawton.

Runners then come down Hawton Road and left in to Valley Prospect, finishing in Sconce Park.

There will be plenty of interesting things to see and do around the race in Sconce Park with food, a sporting equipment shop, and a sports and injury clinic set up.

Many businesses are donating on-the-day spot prizes, including Mr Bike, which will be giving the first male and female runners to break last year’s times, £500.

This is part of the Mr Bike challenge.

Race organisers are aware hot conditions are likely so there are five water stations around the course where water bottles and rehydration packs can be topped-up.

The event is entirely run by volunteers and has been assisted by four local running clubs, Fernwood, Newark Athletic, Newark Striders, and Notfast.
