Girton Sailing Club hosted its first event of the season on Saturday — the annual Supernova Travellers Open.

Sixteen crews contested the annual race with competitors coming from as far as Llandudno and Milton Keynes.

Mild conditions and a steady southerly breeze helped the boats make good times.

There was a clean sweep for Tim Hand, of Swarkstone Sailing Club, Derbyshire, who won all three races.

Matt Biggs, of Blithfield, was second and Paul Morton, of Llandudno, was third.

Keith Johnson was the highest-ranked Girton sailor, finishing sixth.
