Emma Dolan and Halima Vunjabei weigh in on eve of Carl Greaves 150th show as Tom Cowling looks to extend his record to 10-0




With less than 24 hours to go, excitement is building for Carl Greave's 150th boxing show at the Lady Eastwood Pavilion, Newark Showground.

A Commonwealth title is on the line as Greaves'-trained fighter Emma Dolan takes on talented Tanzanian and former two-time world title challenger Halima Vunjabei for the vacant female super flyweight Commonwealth belt.

Dolan and Vunjabei had their weigh-in earlier today (Friday) at Greaves' gym.


Greaves said he was looking forward to celebrating his 150th show where it all started for him in his hometown of Newark.

Greaves said he was looking forward to celebrating his 150th show where it all started for him in his hometown of Newark.

"I'm really happy with the journey, it is remarkable we have gotten to 150 shows," said Greaves.

"I retired from being a professional fighter in 2005 and went straight into the business side of things.

"In 2007, I did my first professional boxing show and that was also at the Newark Showground but in the smaller Cedric Ford pavilion.

"I've been all over the country promoting in some great venues and have produced numerous champions.

"Tomorrow night, I can't believe it but it's the 150th show and it's remarkable."

Greaves added that there are still limited tickets available on the door on a first come, first served basis.

Newark's Tom Cowling is going for 10-0 as the hometown fighter looks to remain undefeated and said the fighters were happy to see Greaves celebrating 150 shows.
