The Rodney Coldren Memorial Charity Match was fished at Collingham Millennium Fishery by 46 anglers and raised £320 for Beaumond House Community Hospice, Newark.

Heavy overnight rain and a thunderstorm in the last hour didn’t help the anglers.

The winner was Newark WMC champion Jamie Booth, on Willow 15. Starting with a feeder cast to the island with meat on the hook, he switched to the pole and landed 49lbs-12oz of carp.

Runner-up was match organiser Nigel Lale, fishing pole with pellet on Centenary two for 47-10, ahead of Mick Shalloe with 47-8 on Willow peg three, who used meat and caster down the edge.

Kele Redwood was fourth on Centenary 30, fishing pole and paste for 46-0; in-form Liam Cooper was fifth on Centenary ten, using pole and pellet shallow for 44-12; and Russ Jones was sixth on Willow five, fishing meat down the edge for 40-7.

Collingham provided the fishery for free. Steve Baker also helped to organise the event.

Collingham fished at Millennium on Sunday and 25 anglers struggled because of heavy overnight rain.

Winner was Darren Harston, who landed the majority of his all-carp catch on Centenary two, fishing feeder on a long pole with pellet down the edge for 63-5.

Less than a pound behind on in-form peg 19 was Joe Cox, using pellet feeder for 62-9. Howard Langley was third on Willow nine, fishing floats and baits on a running line for 49-14.

Fourth on Willow 18 was Wayne Holland with 49-13. Pete Wilkinson was fifth with 46-0 on Centenary eight and Paul Quinton sixth with 43-8 on Willow 22.

Railway Club fished at Scrooby Top on Long Island. The top catches were made fishing on the deck

Winner was Graham Bramberry, using feeder and banded pellet for 108-14 of carp.

Ian Young fished corn and meat on the pole for 88-2 in second. Third-placed Pete Knott used similiar tactics for 84-7. Barry Young was fourth using pole and pellet with 72-13.

This week: Portland Long Island.

New Inn fished at Potter Hanworth on Rushfield Lake, which has been taken over by Steve Gregory.

Small F1 carp and skimmers made up the bulk of the catches. End pegs dominated and Simon Curtis landed 32-0 on peg 26, fishing bread punch shallow and pellet. His catch included a 6lbs carp.

Marcus Leek was second with 22-0, Mark Liwoshko third with 18-12 and Dave Britten fourth with 16-10.

This week: Fox Covert, Laneham.

Southwell didn’t have a venue because of a booking mix-up so nine Newark Federation members had a match at the Federation’s new number one pond at Long Bennington.

The previous week’s warm weather had resulted in a lot of weed growth, which made it nearly unfishable after good reports earlier in the month. Bob Hall landed 4-2 ahead of Dick Stubbs with 1-9.

Newark WMC fished at Little John, Ollerton, and fresh from his midweek charity match win, Booth triumphed again.

Fishing pellet waggler on peg nine, he landed 86-2 of carp. Runner-up was Daz Neal, fishing pole with meat for 65-0 on peg 15.

Third-placed Alan Atkinson used the same method on peg 20 for 58-6. Mark Neal was fourth with 57-6.

This week: Monroes, Jansons.
