Veteran hockey player Lynn Combes tasted more success to cap a successful couple of months after picking up the Home International trophy in Wales.

Combes, representing England Ladies over-40s, faced Wales, Ireland, and Scotland in the tournament, held in Swansea.

The team began with a 0-0 draw against Ireland before finding form and beating Scotland 4-0.

As a result Combes and England went into their final game against hosts Wales knowing a win would put them top of the group and earn them the Home International title.

England had full control of the game, winning 4-1.

Combes, of Balderton, who plays for Boots in the Midlands Premier Division, played all three matches for her country.

The success came just weeks after she won a bronze medal with her England side in the Masters Hockey World Cup in Netherlands.
