Mills leads the way as Newark finish in third
Saskia Mills claimed the sole first place for Newark Swimming Club as they earned an excellent third place against some strong teams at the Notts and District League Gala at Hucknall.
Newark were missing a number of swimmers, with several having to swim out of their age-group, but a superb effort brought its rewards and there were nine personal best times.
Saskia Mills got first touch in the 15-and-under 50m butterfly in a time of 35.82secs, while there were double personal bests for Ellis Marriott (in the 15-and-under 50m breaststroke and then the open event) and Ollie Carrington (open 50m freestyle and then 15-and-under).
Both produced impressive performances by beating previous personal best times in their first swim and then did the same distance later in the evening and set a new personal best again.
