Money cashes in with a gala win
The Newark Swimming Club members produced a solid all-round performance to take second place at the latest round of the Sports Centre Gala League at Beechdale Baths.
Ruth Money got first touch in the 11-and-under 50m freestyle as one of nine first places as Newark were just pipped by Carlton Forum, and the Newark team set 12 new personal best times.

Newark came up against top-class competition at the Minor Gala meeting at the new Retford Pool. Although they finishing fifth, the Newark swimmers produced some excellent performances, including wins for Amy Bell and William Ballard, and a total of 11 new personal bests.

Newark Swimming Club finished fourth in the Whiting Trophy Gala at Mansfield’s Watermeadows, with Alice Tho-mas providing the only victory
in the girls’ open 100m breaststroke in a time of 1mins 15.86secs, although there were five new personal best times recorded by the Newark swimmers.
