White Hart and Walesby make final of Newark Alliance Willie Hall Cup
White Hart and Walesby will meet in this year’s Willie Hall Cup final.
Division One side White Hart beat Covid Cup winners Collingham 3-0 in the first semi-final thanks to goals from Toby White, Luke White and Ryley Thompson, while Premier Division’s Walesby also enjoyed a relatively-straightforward win as they beat Robin Hood by the same scoreline following a Daniel King hat-trick.
Premier Division leaders RHP suffered their first-league defeat of the season, losing 4-0 to second-placed Holy Trinity.
After a cagey opening 45 minutes, Trinity were ruthless in the second half as Patrick Swaby, Charlie Gibson and Jason Thurlby got on the scoresheet, with the other coming through a Craig Dungate own goal.
Tyler Martin scored in each half as FC Newark beat Wheatsheaf United 3-1.
Regis Sugden scored his first goal of the season in the win, while Joe Ness hit Sheaf’s consolation.
New boys Rutland Arms finished sixth in their first season in Division One following their 6-0 loss to Barkestone.
It was plain sailing for Newark FC in their 4-0 win over Bottesford in Division Two as Andra Wilson scored after 60 seconds. Harrison Holland and Joe Parker joined their top-scorer among the goals, before he struck again with 15 to play.
A win in their final game will see them seal the title.
Drew Allwood and Tomas Jordan netted as Fernwood beat Sutton 2-1, while George Burgess had a day to remember as he scored a hat-trick in FC Curry’s 5-1 win over Coddington Tigerz.
