A superb run from Elliot Smith-Rasmussen to finish sixth gave Newark an excellent start, with George Hatton and Will Tucker digging in with tough legs two and three.

Next out was Marcus Chesterton who ran a superb leg handing over to Ed Buck who ran brilliantly with the second fastest time on leg five.

It was then the job of team captain Conor Pacey to bring the team home which he did in style with an excellent run.

The women’s team were making their National Road Relay debut and finished a brilliant 55th.

Trish Jackman was again leading out the team with a gutsy run improving on her time a few weeks ago at the Midlands.

Molly Betmead was next out with a superb leg followed by Kim Etherington-Bates with another solid run. Last out was Kate Ludlam, making her relays debut.

Although Ludlam is more at home running ultras, she certainly showed her determination to bring the team home.
