Newark travel to Northern Premier League's Mickleover in FA Cup second qualifying round
Newark FC's FA Cup second qualifying round opponents have been revealed.
The fixture, against step three Derbyshire side Mickleover, is to be played on Saturday, October 3.
All 43 National League North and South clubs (step two) were in the regionalised draw for the second qualifying round.
Newark, who are yet to concede, have already played three matches in this year's competition.
They are one of just two remaining debutants in the cup — the other is Hashtag United.
In the extra preliminary round, Danny Meadows, Liam King, Rashaan Francis and an own goal forced by Kevin Bastos saw Newark cruise past Deeping Rangers in front of a capacity crowd at Lowfields.
Another 4-0 win followed in the preliminary round as Bastos, Ben Hutchinson, Craig Westcarr and captain Nathan Stainfield were on target at Maltby Main.
The first qualifying round fixture against step three side AFC Rushden and Diamonds saw Newark make a bold statement as they won 5-0 on the road.
Meadows and Hutchinson each bagged a brace before man-of-the-match Bastos finished the scoring.
A win on October 3 against Northern Premier League Premier Division side Mickleover would see Newark scoop £3,375 in prize money. A loss would pay out £1,125.
According to latest government guidance, spectators are still not allowed to attend elite football matches. Step two clubs fall under the FA's definition of elite.
