Newark FC's step five future in their hands as they host Selston tonight in United Counties League Premier Division North relegation battle
A 3-0 defeat to Pinchbeck United on Saturday piled the pressure on Newark FC ahead of tonight's fixture against Selston FC.
Saturday's victory over the Highwaymen moved Pinchbeck closer to Newark FC and Selston — who lost 6-0 vs Melton Town over the weekend.
And Pinchbeck made matters worse for Newark with their win yesterday (Easter Monday), beating Skegness Town 2-1 to move within one point of the Highwaymen.
It means Newark have it all to play for this evening when they host Selston at Greenwich Avenue, in what is the club's final league fixture.
Newark's step five future remains in their hands though, as a win tonight would secure their safety.
A draw tonight would mean Selston would need to beat Loughborough on Saturday to force relegation upon Newark.
Should both Selston and Pinchbeck win their remaining fixtures, Newark would be relegated.
The club has urged supporters to get behind the team tonight against Selston (7.45pm kick-off at Greenwich Avenue).
